Oxford Real Farming Conference 2021

For many farmers the Oxford Real Farm Conference has become an inspiring way to start the year.  Not only do they get to go to a wide variety of lectures and presentations, there are trade stands, new people to meet and old friends to catch up with.  Everyone comes away with fresh ideas and new found enthusiasm.

Farmers are very adaptable, well used to have to change plans based variable such as weather or food  supplies.  For this year there was a different challenge.  The ORFC went virtual with an online platform. The hosts of the ORFC 2021 rose admirably to the challenge a provided a wide range of presentations from a wide variety of speakers coming form all over the world.

Whole Health Agriculture gave their presentation at 8.00pm on Monday the 11th of January.  With a panel of six we covered topics looking at disease prevention and antibiotic reduction with the use of homeopathy. With the powers off modern technology we gathered our speakers from South America, Holland, Australia as well as around the UK.

The session was very well attended with many interesting questions in the Q&A session afterwards and further discussion in the breakout room afterwards. Many of the audience were familiar with the virtues of homeopathy and it was also nice to have people who were coming across it for the first time.

There is no question in my mind that I would always prefer to go to a live presentation and chat to people face to face, rather than via a screen.  Yet given that such things are difficult, the virtual conference format worked admirable as the next best thing.  The support staff did a great job of keeping everything flowing smoothly.

One of the big benefits of a virtual conference is that the material is recorded.  I look forward to dipping into the archives over the year and continuing to be inspired.
