Valentine’s Day - Love your animals
Anyone who has animals in their life will have moments when their heart opens and their is a genuine sense of love for the animal, as profound as any love they have felt for a human being.
For pet owners these experiences are quite common. It is in the nature of choosing to have a pet at all in our lives. Certainly people who ride horses will create similar connections. The same is also true for farmers with their livestock. As pragmatic as farmers often need to be, all the ones I know have a sense of care and love for animals on their farm.
All this is great. Why shouldn’t we experience a love for animals in our care?
It can be two way street. Animals are very good at giving love back. There are many stories out their of animals expressing their care for human beings by one heroic deed or another. Then there are the simpler moments, such as a cat contentedly curled up on our lap and purring.
There is a feel good factor to this loving experience, which is wonderful. We also know that having pets improves our own health in all sorts of positive ways.
Deep down at a cellular level there is an opportunity for a beautiful ripple effect.
Recall the last time you walked into a gloomy place or perhaps a room where moments previously someone had bene having an argument. We have an expression that “you can cut the atmosphere with a knife”. There is a dark and uncomfortable feeling.
Now recall the places you may have been that have a light, calm, uplifting perhaps spiritual energy to them. There can be a feeling of positivity and optimism in such places.
One can bring the energy down. The other can be up-lifting.
Every second of every day there is an ongoing process of cellular reproduction and repair. Bodies are not static things. There is a constant buzz of activity as the job of maintenance and repair goes on. There are statistics suggesting the human body completely replaces itself every seven years. There will be similar patterns for animals. This is going to be happening whatever the energy weather is on the outside.
There is the opportunity to craft the outer energy environment for any given body, be it animal or human. In scenario one we can create an environment of love and care, while the process of maintenance and repair continues. In scenario two we can make it all gloom and doom, stress and negativity. Which one do you think the cells are going to thrive in better? And if the cells are thriving, the whole body will be thriving. Which one would you prefer to be in?
So as a Valentine’s Day Gift to the animals in your care, make the choice to focus day by day on crafting as loving and caring environment as possible. They will love you back for it all the more.
